Tilly Norwood is not a real person. She was created by a London AI studio called Particle 6 and has no body, no childhood, and no lived experience — only access to everyone else's. This week, she was cast as the lead in Misaligned, a feature film about an AI being who becomes dangerously human. SAG-AFTRA called her "a character generated by a computer program that was trained on the work of countless professional performers — without permission or compensation."

Her creator says she wants Tilly to be "the next Scarlett Johansson." She also says real actors will still be needed — and that some might even want digital twins of themselves to exist in an AI genre alongside their real work. SAG-AFTRA says that's not the point. The point is that Tilly was built on stolen performances from real humans who never agreed to train her.
