Sincerely, The Security Team Coroner Identifies Man Killed in Nampa Police ShootingMarch 5, 2026The Canyon County Coroner identified G. as the man shot and killed by Nampa police during a traffic stop. An investigation is ongoing. The coroner's office said his cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds. The Nampa Police Department said on Tuesday, around 2 p.m., two officers were attempting to conduct a traffic stop along North 21st Street and Industrial Road. The department said officers were aware that the passenger in the vehicle was a suspect with a felony warrant out for his arrest. G. did not comply with the officers' commands and allegedly 'pulled a handgun.' Both officers fired shots at that time. The driver of the vehicle was struck in the hand. His injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening. G. was fatally struck multiple times, and life-saving measures were unsuccessful. The Canyon County Critical Incident Task Force (CITF) responded to this incident, and the Caldwell Police Department will take the lead in the investigation. |
